Royal College admission of CIABOC chief’s child under scrutiny

Colombo, Sept. 19 (Daily Mirror) - The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has confirmed that its Director General, Ranga Dissanayake, admitted his child to Royal College in full compliance with the law.

In a statement, the Commission said it conducted an inquiry following a complaint regarding the admission.

After reviewing the process, CIABOC confirmed that the admission was carried out legally and in accordance with all relevant regulations.

Hiding the case under the carpet. He lives in Homagama and he is not within 1km either. Also not an old boy of the school. He should step down as it is obviously done with the help of a powerful political intervention at that time and well known fact. Lol

What matters is how he got his child into Royal College. Most of the time, those untitled or not allowed find devious means, including falsifying address, by putting address of other person within area of admission. Everything must be checked, because most students are put in by working around regulations to make it look all legal, but actually by use of deceit. So completely legal, but for tricks and deceit. Just like Ranil should be in remand, but citing health concerns he's out free meeting with bigwigs.

Agree insufficient detail here. Fact is that there is a precedent Supreme Court decision about admittance of judge’s kids to schools. Accordingly, the CIABOC DG has not committed any wrong. There is no case here but as usual there is a minority that want to stifle anyone who does some progressive work in this country. DG is doing an excellent job to quell corruption.

Ok then where is the inquiry report ? Kid was neither enrolled for year 1 nor passed 5 th grade scholarship exam nor had excellent OL results. So he missed every single step to enter royal, but yet ended up in royal . How ?

isn't asking for, or giving a donation a bribe? And then, when children are admitted with influence and without a donation isn't that a bribe too? As normal parents, how difficult it is to get a child admitted into a leading institution even if you live within short distance from the school. Influence is a bribe isn't it.

Correct, but in this case, there was no influence used, admission was based on a Supreme Court precedent.
