Former Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama has been appointed as Sri Lanka's High Commissioner to the UK with effect from 01 August 2023, sources said.

The main job of an Ambassador is to inform his or her government on all aspects of the country in which they are serving. In this main task all of our Ambassadors have failed specially our Ambassadors who took up position in the UK. When I travelled back to Sri Lanka after many decades , I was shocked to realise the whole country is still looking up to Britain and giving reverence to the White Race. No, one had told them what life in Britain is all about . I hope the new Ambassador would start to inform on a weekly basis every major existing and developing factor in the UK. As an example, my fellow Sri Lankans back home don’t know the high respect that exists in Britain for all those Asians who have maintained their ORIGINAL religions; Buddhism, Hinduism, or Islam. The British Prime Minister is a brown skin Hindu and the Mayor of London is a brown skin Muslim. And some of the leading criminal Lawyers in London are Sri Lankans, Sinhalese Buddhists and Tamil Hindus.
