Colombo, Jan 19 (Daily Mirror) - Former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes on Friday responded to reports that he had been appointed as a Consultant Fielding Coach by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), saying "This is news to me".
Responding to a media report that he was one of three overseas coaches appointed by SLC on a consultancy basis, Rhodes took to his verified account on X, formerly known as Twitter, writing: "This is news to me #checkyourfacts".
SLC on Thursday announced that Rhodes along with Bharat Arun and Alex Kountouri were roped in as consultant coaches to provide advanced training to local cricket coaches, trainers and physios.

Could it be that Sri Lankans overrate themselves, act superior to each other (status) so when stupid things like this occur which are bad for the image of the country and for SL cricket they are never investigated in a proper way and checked, probably dismissed with a wave of the hand. The rest of the world is not so foolish, they are more down to earth, more serious. about things They do the basics and get ahead not just cricket, in everything. Some may disagree with this view point and say it is another distraction, now that elections are coming. Either way it is bad and should be stopped as news travels fast.Or maybe there is another explanation.

This is seriously embarrassing ..... but then, this is the Sri Lanka of today. No dignity, no future and no credibility.

How can you give someone a job, without him knowing it? May be someone within the corrupted SLC is drawing his consultancy fee.
