Reward offered for information on female suspect in court shooting
Colombo, Feb 20 (Daily Mirror) - Police released a photograph of a female suspect connected to the murder of Ganemulla Sanjeewa at the Hulftsdorp Court Complex. They request for public help in locating her.
The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Pinpura Dewage Ishara Sewwandi resides at 243/01, Jaya Mawatha, Negombo Road, Katuwellegama.
Her National Identity Card number is 995892480V.
Investigations have revealed that Sewwandi, who posed as a lawyer, brought the revolver into the court complex yesterday and handed it over to the gunman involved in the murder.The police suspect she is involved in drug trafficking as well.
Investigations have revealed that she planned the murder of Ganemulla Sanjeewa in collaboration with underworld figure Manudinu Pathmasiri Perera, alias Kehelbaddara Padme, who is currently in Dubai.
Police urge anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts to contact the Director of the Colombo Crimes Division at 071-8591727 or the OIC of the CCD at 071-8591735.
Police said Acting Inspector General of Police, Priyantha Weerasooriya has also decided to offer a cash reward for anyone who provides accurate information leading to the suspect’s arrest.
They said the identity of those who provide such information will be kept strictly confidential.
