Colombo, May 13 (Daily Mirror) - Referring to a recent remark by Deputy Minister Chathuranga Abeysinghe who alleged that some Opposition members distributed drugs during the recent election campaign, opposition MP Mano Ganesan said the Deputy Minister should come up with the names of those members who were engaged in such crimes.

“The Deputy Minister is accusing the Opposition parties of distributing drugs during the election campaign. Forget the elections, but what he is talking about is serious. I call upon him to share all information with the narcotic Police with an explanation of why he failed to do so during the elections,” MP Ganesan said in his X message.

Go complain to CID yourself to find out the truth about it. Providing liquor has been a practice ever since elections started in this lovely island. In fact, most of the leaders in the half-haerted freedom efforts in the 1900s were from the families in the liquor business. Some of these leaders started the Temperance movement in Sri Lanka. Isn't it in itself is a joke? Isn't it all logical these liquor providers have now progressed to providing drugs?

It is time the President summon the entire government members of parliament and tell them that the requirement today is not to act like clowns but to work hard to fulfill the promises given to the people.
