Retired Major Ajith Prasanna jailed for another six months

Retired Major Ajith Prasanna was today sentenced to six months of rigorous imprisonment by the Court of Appeal in connection with a contempt of court application filed in 2019. 

He is currently serving a four-year rigorous imprisonment sentence imposed by the Supreme Court over an earlier contempt of court application filed in 2020.

The Court of Appeal imposed six months imprisonment to come into effect separately after the conclusion of the current four years of rigorous imprisonment.(Lakmal Sooriyagoda )
