Resigned SLC Secretary to return to SL amid Minister’s remarks



Colombo, Nov 27 (Daily Mirror) - In the wake of the remarks made by Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe that the recently resigned Secretary of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board Mohan de Silva, had contacted him from Australia, exposing corruption within the SLC, Mohan de Silva is expected to return to Sri Lanka this week.

Sources informed the Daily Mirror that Mohan de Silva is expected to issue a statement to the media
through the Sr Lanka Cricket regarding the Minister's remarks.

During a visit to Kandy to meet the Mahanayaka Theras of the Malwathu and Asgiri Chapters, the Minister said on Saturday that Mohan de Silva had called him from Australia revealing his attempts to steer the SLC in the right direction.

Mohan de Silva tendered his resignation on November 4 after the Sports Minister urged the Executive Committee (ExCo) of the cricket governing body and the Selection Committee to step down from their positions or face drastic action following the national team’s crushing defeat to India in the ODI at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
