Colombo, August 26 (Daily Mirror) - United National Party (UNP) Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene today urged those who have gathered in support of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe to refrain from disturbing the peace, law and order.

“I urge everyone to look at their conscience at this moment and refrain from disturbing the peace, law and order."

“Ranil Wickremesinghe who took over the country during a crisis is in prison today,” he added.

Wijewardene thanked everyone who had joined to get Wickremesinghe released.

Sensible advice to refrain from disturbances etc. As a country coming out of a difficult period, we need to stay focused and maintain stability at all costs, otherwise it will be one step forward, two steps backwards! Result? We will go downhill, increase our vulnerability, which external agencies/ foreign countries will exploit to the nth degree!
