Ready to probe obtaining Rs. 50 mn to offer Parliamentary seat, if complained: Justice Minister

Parliament, January 21 (Daily Mirror)- A certain political party has obtained Rs. 50 million from a person to offer him a Parliamentary seat and the government is ready to investigate into it if a complaint is lodged, Justice Minister Harshana Nanayakkara said today.

The Minister told Parliament that such things also must be cleaned.

"A certain political party has obtained Rs. 50 million from a person promising him a seat in Parliament. We know who. If the person lodges a complaint, then, we are ready to investigate and find out how that money is shared," he said and added, "Then, everyone can see how the law is implemented. Such things also should be cleaned," he said.

If you are upto date with current affairs you would realise that an investigation is currently underway with some stake holders already being questioned. We should know of the outcome soon. These are not quick fix instant noodles which you may be a fan of.
