Ravi’s lawyers file writ over arrest warrant

A writ application has been filed before the Appeal Court by lawyers of former MP Ravi Karunanayake requesting to cancel the arrest warrant issued on him by the Colombo Fort Magistrate.

Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake on Friday issued arrest warrants on Ravi Karunanayake and nine others over the Central Bank bond scam.

The petition also seeks an injunction order to remove the case from the Colombo Fort Magistrate.

The Attorney General, the Director of the CID and the Acting Inspector General have been cited as respondents in the petition.

He should have taken a hint from the big boss and got an 'interim order'. The courts must now have copies of 'interim order' made so it can just fill in the blanks.
