Colombo, June 9 (Daily Mirror) - Medical Laboratory Technologist and prominent trade union activist Ravi Kumudesh has been suspended from service, effective June 10, 2025.

The Ministry of Health announced that the suspension comes as a result of Kumudesh contesting the 2024 General Election, which is a violation of the government’s Establishments Code.

As a consequence of the suspension, Kumudesh will not be entitled to receive any salary or allowances, the Ministry added.

Kumudesh the Trade Unionist should have known that as a public servant he could contest but must obtain leave from the Department head. If he did not know that the idiot is unfit to lead a trade Union. In my mind when he is suspended he cannot hold office in any Trade Union so he must now give up all trade union work
