Ravi K discloses outcome of his visit to North

Former Minister Ravi Karunanayake said today his recent trip to the North was to look into start an investment project which will bring much needed dollars to Sri Lanka.

Mr. Karunanayake said this in response to a question raised by journalists at a public function.

“Why cant I go to North in a helicopter? I can do whatever I like, since I am not in the government. Besides one should not paint a negative picture of my recent visit to Mannar,” he said.

Asked whether he indents taking up any position in the government, Ravi Karunanayake said what is important is not to take up positions, but working for the people is what matters.

We were happy you had gone into retirement from all forms of politics. You are entitled to start businesses and provide employment to Lankans. But why a helicopter ride? Lead by example, you should not spend money before you have earned it, unless you have earned it when in politics.
