Ranil’s case over Rs. 16.6 Mn misuse to be taken up today

Colombo, Jan. 28 (Daily Mirror) - The case filed against former President Ranil Wickremesinghe over allegations of misusing Rs. 16.6 million in public funds for a private overseas trip is scheduled to be taken up again today at 1.30 p.m. before the Fort Magistrate’s Court.

Former President Wickremesinghe, who is suspected of using public funds for a personal foreign visit, is currently out on bail. 

Former Presidential Secretary Saman Ekanayake has also been named as a suspect in connection with the case.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has already conducted an extensive investigation into the matter.
