Colombo, Feb 8 (Daily Mirror) - President Ranil Wickremesinghe had brainwashed National People’s Power (NPP) and that is why its leader went before Indian leaders, Ports, Shipping, and Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said in Parliament today.

"Those who held lectures, on Indian expansionism have gone to meet Indian leaders today,” he quipped.
“They who wore worn-out clothes are wearing full suits. We are happy about this move. This is because Ranil Wickremesinghe has brainwashed them," MP De Silva said.

"We can recall how these leaders criticized the government for going into business ventures with Adani group," he added.

He also said that around 200,000 tourists had visited Sri Lanka during the last month.

The JVP (the oldies) are yet having socialist ideals and some of them who even recently burnt MPs houses and perhaps killed one MP on May 9th believe violence (like in 88,89) is one way to solve problems. NPP on the other hand has Dr Harini, Harshana, and more liberal minded, economically savy reasonable people. Ideally the NPP should part company with the old JVP mindset and continue to win the hearts of the people. Perhaps a visit by USA ambassador and now a visit to India may expose to the JVP themselves that they have lost their marbles and should remain a socialist party and allow NPP to go their separate way.
