Colombo, March 19 (Daily Mirror) - Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has undergone a successful surgery abroad, Opposition MP Ravi Karunanayake told Parliament today.

"Let's hope for a speedy recovery for the former President," he added.

The vast majority of Sri Lankans care about Hon Ranil Wickremesinghe's health and wellbeing. He is the man who laid the solid foundation for the economic recovery when other people saw it as a quagmire. When people like AKD just meekly circumvented the responsibility when offered to steer the economy out of the woods, this man, like a lion, assumed the most challenging task of emancipating the Sri Lankan economy which had reached its nadir since independence. What we have now is a cohort that makes Sri Lanka look like a laughingstock in front of the world. Yes, we have enough "good quechchons" in the current government now.

This is a clear indication that though these fellows ruled this nation for so many years, they did absolutely nothing. Even for their medical needs they do not use or trust the Medical System they built so they go abroad for their medical conditions.
