Rajarata University gets new Chancellor

Colombo, Feb 14 (Daily Mirror) - President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has appointed Most Ven. Dr. Gallelle Sumanasiri Thera as the Chancellor of the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka.

According to the President’s Media Division (PMD), the official letter of appointment was presented to Most Ven. Dr. Gallelle Sumanasiri Thera this afternoon (14) at the Presidential Secretariat by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake,

Most Ven. Dr. Gallelle Sumanasiri Thera, who has been appointed as the Chancellor of the Rajarata University, serves as the Chief Incumbent of the Harankahawa Molagoda Rajamaha Viharaya.

No research paper. He was just presented with a doctorate to keep the sangha happy. You must realise that this is Sri Lanka. You living abroad won’t understand the procedures in Sri Lanka. The Sangha is coupled with the political government. The Buddhist sangha in Sri Lanka can make a government and can break a government. The Sangha asked 6.9 million people to vote for Gotha Rajapakse and they did !!
