Rajapaksa politics no longer valid: Minister Viddyarathna
Colombo, September 16 (Daily Mirror) - The politics of the Rajapaksas is no longer valid in this country, as people have recognized the true nature of politics, Plantation and Community Infrastructure Minister Samantha Viddyarathna said.
Speaking to the media, the Minister said that the political journey of any party depends on the mandate of the people, regardless of the form in which that party emerges.
He added that the public now clearly understands the reality of politics and that there is no future for political parties that have been rejected by the people.
“The people have also begun to recognize the stench of the ice drug and the underworld. With recent revelations, they have identified those responsible for it,” the Minister said.
“The National People's Power (NPP) breeze has already arrived, and there is no space for another to blow. Many things are starting to be swept away, and more will follow in the future.
We will not allow any corrupt politics to take root in this country. We have removed the womb of corrupt politics—only from this can a better politics be born,” he added.
