Rains and strong winds forecasted in Sri Lanka’s sea areas



Colombo, Oct.11 (Daily Mirror) - The Department of Meteorology has forecasted showers or thundershowers in the sea areas off the coast from Colombo to Pottuvil, via Galle and Hambantota. Isolated showers or thundershowers may also occur in other surrounding sea areas during the evening or night today.

Winds are expected to be south-westerly or variable, blowing at 25–35 kmph, with gusts potentially reaching up to 45 kmph in the sea areas off the coast from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota.

Sea conditions in these areas will be moderate at times, but temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas are likely during thundershowers.
