Colombo, Sept. 26 (Daily Mirror) - The prevailing rainy conditions are expected to gradually ease in the coming days, the Department of Meteorology said.
Director General Athula Karunanayake said that no rainfall is expected in the Eastern and Uva provinces, while a significant reduction in rain is likely in other provinces after October 3.
He said that southwest monsoon conditions will continue over the next few days, bringing intermittent showers or thundershowers to the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Northwestern provinces, as well as the districts of Kandy and Nuwara Eliya.
The Department also warned of the possibility of rainfall exceeding 100 millimeters in some areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Northwestern provinces.
