Rainfall expected to increase from Thursday
The Department of Meteorology says the Northeast Monsoon is expected to gradually establish over the island in the coming days, bringing increased rainfall to several regions.
According to the Department, wetter conditions are likely from Thursday (4), particularly in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, Uva and Central Provinces.
As such, the public has been advised to remain vigilant as monsoon conditions intensify.
