Colombo, February 19 (Daily Mirror) - Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Deputy Minister Sunil Watagala, who arrived at the Hulftsdorp Court complex, was heard calling his driver ‘Buruwa’ (donkey) while summoning his vehicle.
The Deputy Minister was at the court complex this morning regarding the shooting incident involving underworld figure Ganemulla Sanjeewa.
During the visit, several journalists questioned him about the government's ability to ensure public safety. Instead of responding, the Deputy Minister loudly called out, "Buruwo, waren" (Donkey, come here).
In the same video, another individual was heard instructing someone to locate the Deputy Minister’s vehicle immediately.

This minister is the donkey. He has no idea about the vehicle he came and the driver. Funny, he is responsible for ensuring safety of all citizens including me. Remove this joker immediately.

He was calling the driver to come and take him quickly and the video appears to be dubbed with someone else's voice( so many things can be done with AI now) to discredit him. Probably those who created the dubbed video are the ones to be called with that name because they are still behaving like that and go after those who destroyed the country for 76 years. The NPP will finish clean Sri Lanka programme and make a better country.

Arrogant fool nothing else. Majority of npp parliament members are like this. They get exposed day by day. Also why does he have so much security and specially stf. Non of the previous ministers did not have this much security. Anyway nothing much to expect from born liars and filthy low life individuals like watawala.

These are the guys ( Booruwas ) who reflect the culture of our country. Sometime ago a person had commented that the Sinhalese can't govern Sri lanka and have failed miserably since 1948. This guy has proved that statement beyond doubt. Even the Afghans have a sense of respect for their own. As long as the Sinhalese are in politics Sri lanka will be a failure because the Sinhalese politicians are truly Kassipu drinking, Ganja smoking, Heroin inhaling Booruwas, so Sri lankans don't look forward to any progress in the years to come.

This individual is perhaps the weakest and idiotic creature within the NPP cabinet. He has exposed himself many a time and he is a Gallery man hunting for cheap publicity. Remember he visited the Peliyagoda market and some other places. He himself exposed that he is infact the animal himself - that he was addressing his poor driver. ZULU

Ram P Thursday, 20 February 2025 05:10 AM
MR used this word in public and the video circulated in the past. Learning from our past President he must be thinking that politicians can use the Booruwa word to address others

Everyone must be respected; no matter who he is; therefore very poor Deputy Minister. The position he holds is a responsible position; hence he should not only apologize to his driver but also set an example by resigning.

These people came to power with the sincere inner heart feelings of love for the poor people. But this Deputy Ministers vocabulary to his own driver reflects a compleat turn around to human feelings. Of Cause he was facing a grilling from the media but he did not have an answer because of his unpreparedness as a minister who should be able to face these situations and he took it upon his helpless driver. Come on Deputy Minister face up to these problems like a man or just go home.

In Germany, a driver for parliament or ministries needs an O-level school-leaving certificate or an equivalent vocational qualification with 3 to 4 years of training and several years of experience as a professional driver. The vehicles belong to the parliamentary vehicle fleet and are allocated as required. The drivers normally work in two shifts and are allocated accordingly; the politicians have no influence on this. Drivers are employed and paid by the parliamentary administration. Politicians cannot get involved and are not allowed to make recommendations. In Sri Lanka, any fool can get such a job and may be labelled a donkey or a monkey.

Poor people put up with these insults because they are afraid of their masters who are thugs and they don't want to lose their jobs! The language used by the estate superintendents to address the poor plantation workers, is far far far worse than this!
