The Galle Face protesters today filed three writ petitions in Court of Appeal seeking an order preventing the authorities from taking any steps to cause the eviction of the protesters at Gota Go Gama. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)

The Galle face green belongs to 20 million people in Sri Lanka and not to the 2 million or so mobs protesting at Galle Face. Get them out fast as it is disgrace to the nation.

It is high time Galle Face is available for families to enjoy.. at the moment we cannot take the children to Galle Face because of the protests/protesters. Please protest in the areas assigned and authorised by the government. Nobody is asking you all not to protest!

Good move - most of them have turned this into their homes and businesses. It is disgrace. Galle Face was always for families and those wanting to enjoy an evening stroll. Now it is like some shanty. Well done RW. stand your ground.
