Colombo, Feb 19 (Daily Mirror) - An investigation has revealed that a woman, disguised as a lawyer, had brought a revolver to the Colombo Hulftsdorp Court Complex with the intention of handing it over to the gunman responsible for the shooting of notorious underworld figure 'Ganemulla Sanjeewa.'

Police spokesperson SSP Buddhika Manathunga said that the assailant, also dressed in lawyer's attire, carried out the shooting of Sanjeewa in the chamber.

Sanjeewa had been brought to court this morning in connection with an ongoing case when he was critically injured in the attack. He later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

The revolver used in the shooting was discovered inside the court, with the gunman fleeing the scene immediately after the incident.

Investigations revealed that the person disguised as a lawyer had entered the court empty-handed and had then taken the firearm from the woman in question.

Gosh a day light shooting murder in courts complex so busy with people and security. This is worse that Club Wasantha murder case. It looks a professional contract well planned and murderer to escape freely. So looks the master crook who had been making use of Sanjeewa too goes scot free for now.
