Private university student clash at Homagama hotel leaves teen dead

Colombo, April 10 (Daily Mirror) - Police have launched a detailed investigation following a fatal confrontation between two groups of students from a private university at a hotel in the Moragahahena area of Homagama, which left a 19-year-old dead.

According to police, the incident occurred during a party held at the hotel on the night of April 9, where an argument between students escalated into violence.

Authorities said the victim, a 19-year-old resident of Nikadalupotha in Wellawa, sustained fatal injuries during the clash.

Following initial inquiries based on information received about the death, police arrested five suspects in connection with the incident. The arrested individuals are also reported to be students of the same university and are believed to have been involved in the attack.

Homagama Police are continuing further investigations to establish the exact sequence of events and determine all parties responsible for the violence.
