President to address the nation today

President Ranil Wickremesinghe will address the nation on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of Independence at 6.45 pm today.

The nationwide address will be telecast on all television channels.

What can he say about this 75 years of anniversary? Can he say that we have truly achieved any freedom...more than 50 % of people struggle to get food and basic necessities and what to celebrate rather mourning to all our failures

Please do not politicize the National Day! We are still an independent nation and we commemorate our freedom and our love for our country on this day. This has nothing to do with corruption and mismanagement of the economy by those who took leadership and on whom the people of this country have vested power from time to time.
