President telephones UAE President; expresses sadness over recent attacks

Colombo, March 4 (Daily Mirror) - President Anura Kumara Dissanayake telephoned President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed to express his sadness over the recent attacks suffered by the UAE.

The President said in a post X that "I assured him of Sri Lanka’s solidarity while condemning all forms of violence and terrorism. Sri Lanka stands firmly with the UAE and is ready to assist in any way it can."

This idiot President telephoning an American ally to show concern over a Iran attack , when Iran is being obliterated by America and Israel while America is using UAE as one it's attacking base.Sri Lanka never had nor would ever have , an educated , middle class , courageous , well balanced leader . All we had and still we have are , fourth rate politicians most of them could not speak even proper English .

Fisrtly get your facts right. Yes IRAN attacked American Interests in several Gulf / Aarb states. Yet those affected states alone must bear the brunt of the ensuing destruction. All effetced states are good 'friends' with Sri Lanka. So where is the problem ? It was the right thing to sympathize with with UAE. For that matter, the President should have have done so with all effetced counties. Secondly there is absolutely no shame if our President is not fluent enough to converse in english. Shows SL still had enough of Kalu Suddhas, remnents of the by gone era, still suffering from that notorious superiority complex. Those that lack the basic decency to make such deplorable statements. Sri Lanka will do just fine without such disgraceful, shameless low mentality band. The people friendly, intelligent, clean, down to earth AKD is considered the best President Sri Lanka has seen in the last 77 years. Not my view, but that of the vast majority in Sri Lanka.

Stupid comment. Arab countries refused to allow US to launch attacks from their soil. UAE and Qatar were valuable trading partners for Iran, yet those imbeciles attacked these neutral countries, that too civilian targets which is not acceptable. President did the right thing. Also looks like that your peanut brain has forgotten the 18 plane loads of goods sent by UAE for cyclone relief apart from sending a rescue team. And do not forget the 300K workforce that is sending you remittances to sustain your bankrupt economy.
