Adani had to pay huge Commissions to former President, Minister and some officials. To make up for that, he was allowed to increase the charge of electricity to Sri Lankan users at a higher rate. NPP government must insist that Adani to come clean and name the VIPs who took Commissions. Then NPP MUST take actions against those Commissioners and ask those greedy VIPs to vomit what they have swallowed.

Lost the opportunity to export electricity to India which was the main plan of that project. Several nearby countries do this too with Indian investments. Probably with this matter akd government will not last long as Adani is like right hand of Modi.

Adani is a Businessman and he will do whatever possible to get even a cent more, that is business. Whilst hoping that the Indian Government will not put undue pressure on SL to accept the offer by Adani at the same rate, SL Govt also need to look at renegotiating with them cos they have a proven track record of providing such facility. At the same time, if a Sri Lankan Company is willing to give at half the cost, we should seriously consider that, BUT, should be mindful not to get carried away with lower price alone, but look at the track record of the company concerned, their financial ability to stay alive during the period of contract etc., because at the end of the day, what would matter is consistent uptime and not price. In the corporate world there are many a example of companies offering contracts to the lowest bidder, looking at only the short term benefit whereas on the long run, those companies fault. I hope the Government will look at all options with a open mind.

I do hope that when Adani people meet NPP government officials on renewable power, they will tell as to why they quoted over US$ 0.08 cents when one of our companies has quoted US$ 0.04 cents almost 50% less. Did the previous government people who negotiated the deal sought commissions?
