President takes a swipe at foreign energy company

Colombo, Feb 17 (Daily Mirror) - In an obvious reference to the Adani group moving out of the renewable energy project, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake,  in his budget speech, asked whether the unit price of USD 0.08  quoted by it is justifiable.

He was responding to concerns expressed by some over the company leaving Sri Lanka.

He said his government will offer renewable energy projects to the lowest bidder irrespective of the country of origin. He said one project was offered to a local company which quoted only 0.04 for a unit as the lowest.
