Education Reforms, Open Universities and Distance Learning Promotion State Minister Susil Premajayantha has been removed from the post by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa with immediate effect, the President's Media Division said.

The decision has been taken as per the powers vested in the President.

The Daily Mirror learns that Premajayantha was removed after recent critical remarks made by him against the government.
