Preschooler drowns during swimming lesson
Colombo, Oct. 9 (Daily Mirror) - A 5-year-old child studying at a private school in Mirihana died after drowning during a swimming lesson.
The preschooler, a resident of Thalapathpitiya, Nugegoda, was undergoing training at a swimming pool with a group of students and teachers last afternoon.
The child was admitted to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital in a critical condition and he died later.
This is the third such incident involving a student drowning in a swimming pool during the past week.
