Power restored in several areas in the country

The power supplies in the several areas in the country had been restored, the Power and Renewable Energy Ministry said a short while ago.

A countrywide power failure was reported this afternoon.

A CEB official said that the countrywide blackout had been reported at around 1.45 p.m. and the cause for power failure could be a lightning strike onto one of the grids.
