Power outage at Power and Energy Ministers’ event in Jaffna

A brief power outage occurred during a meeting attended by the Minister of Power and Energy, Kumara Jayakody in Jaffna today.
The Power and Energy Minister delivered a speech, assuring that electricity will be provided 24 hours a day in Jaffna, and shortly after he finished his speech, the power disruption occurred.
The incident happened during a special discussion organized by the Engineers' Division of the National Intellectuals Organization at a private guesthouse in Jaffna this evening.
The power outage occurred while the Deputy Minister of Digital Economy, Eranga Weeraratne, was delivering a speech and it briefly disrupted the event. Afterward, power was restored.
The Jaffna office of the Ceylon Electricity Board confirmed that there was a brief power outage in some parts of Jaffna this evening.
Notably, the event was attended by Minister of Power and Energy Kumara Jayakody, Minister of Fisheries Ramalingam Chandrasekar, Deputy Minister of Digital Economy Eranga Weeraratne, Deputy Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Janith Kodituwakku, Member of Parliament K. Ilangkumaran and Lalith Samarasekera, Coordinator of the National Intellectuals Organization, among others.
