Power and Energy Ministry to auction its luxury vehicles

Colombo, July 07 (Daily Mirror)- The Power and Energy Ministry has called for tenders to auction fourteen luxury vehicles including six Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles.

These vehilces are being auctioned following the instructions of Power and Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody in line with the government's policy on curtailing unnecassry pulic funds.

The Ministry said seperate applications must be submitted to each vehilce for which bidding is offered and that applications are available at the Power and Energy Ministry.

The Ministry said those who obtain applications can inspect the vehicles at No. 80, Sir Ernest de Silva Mawatha, Colombo 7.

The vehicles are over 10 years old. The hidden objective is to sell these at below market value and then buy newer vehicles later. AKD mentioned that the government vehicles are too old and they will buy new vehicles.
