Pope appoints Bishop Valance Mendis as new Bishop of Kandy
His Holiness Pope Francis has appointed Bishop of Chilaw Rt. Rev. Dr. Valance Mendis as the new Bishop of Kandy.
He will also be in charge of the Chilaw diocese as well.
Bishop Valence Mendis replaces the outgoing Bishop of Kandy Rev. Dr. Vianni Fernando, who has retired recently. (Yohan Perera)
