Police to strictly enforce traffic laws during festive season

Colombo, April 6 (Daily Mirror) - Police said that traffic laws will be strictly enforced across the country during the festive season.

Deputy Inspector General of Traffic Control and Road Safety, W. P. J. Senadheera said that special teams have been deployed to ensure compliance with traffic regulations.

He said that steps have been taken to prevent traffic congestion, particularly in areas where shoppers visit malls, clothing stores, and roadside shops.

Accordingly, shop owners have been advised to provide adequate parking facilities or make alternative arrangements for their customers.

Police have also instructed relevant authorities to take strict action against those violating traffic laws, especially improper roadside parking.
