Colombo, Feb 07 (Daily Mirror) - The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officers today repatriated three wanted criminals including Nadakandage Upali alias ' Rotumba Upali' from Dubai to Sri Lanka this morning.
Police said the individuals were arrested by Dubai authorities on Sunday, February 2 after Interpol issued red notices for their arrest.
They said 42-year-old Ranmuni Mahesh Hemantha Silva, a resident of Uragasman Junction, 40-year-old Pradeep Sandaruwan also known as 'Kolonnawe Chandana', a resident of Kolonnawa and 39-year-old 'Rotumba Upali', a resident of Puwakwatta were brought to the country via Bandaranaike International Airport from Dubai.
Police said Hemantha Silva is accused of killing five persons in Beliatta last year.
Meanwhile, suspect 'Kolonnawe Chandana' is wanted for several violent crimes in Wellampitiya, including a shooting incident in 2023, the attempted murder of a man in January 2022, and the murder of an individual in June 2021.
'Rotumba Upali' is accused of committing several serious crimes, including the 2008 murder of a person in Akuressa, the shooting of a man in Matara, and the rape of a 15-year-old girl in Urubokka.
