Colombo, April 21 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lanka Police have dismissed as “completely false” reports circulating on social media and some websites claiming that a suspect was planning a series of bomb attacks in Colombo and other crowded areas.
Police Media Spokesman ASP F. U. Wootler said the reports were “completely false” and stressed that no such incident had been reported to authorities.
His comments followed media reports alleging that an associate of organized crime figure Kanjipani Imran had been arrested in connection with a planned attack.
ASP Wootler confirmed that a suspect linked to Kanjipani Imran was arrested during a raid in Ja-Ela yesterday.
However, he firmly denied claims that the individual had been preparing to carry out bomb attacks.
