Colombo, Nov 21 (Daily Mirror) - Police have issued special instructions regarding the use of sound amplification systems at a public rally scheduled for today (November 21) at 2.00 p.m. at the Ananda Samarakoon Open Air Theatre in Nugegoda.
Police said that rally organisers had requested permission to use sound systems for the event.
However, several GCE Advanced Level (A/L) examination centres are located near the venue, and loud noise could disrupt students sitting for exams.
Police said that A/L examinations are being held today from 8.30 a.m. to 11.40 a.m. and from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m., warning that any disturbance could negatively impact candidates.
As a result, organisers have been instructed to comply strictly with laws and regulations governing sound equipment and ensure that no disruption occurs for students entering, attending, or leaving exam centres. Permission has been granted to use sound systems only within the rally premises, with all licence conditions to be followed.
