Police fire tear gas at IUSF protesters

Police used tear gas to disperse a protest march by Inter-University Students Federation (IUSF) at the Fort area, Colombo this evening.

The march commenced from the Kelaniya University against the ‘privatization of free education’ was heading towards the Presidential Secretariat when they came under the police assault, students claimed.

Several students have been hospitalized due to the incident.
