Police fire tear gas after tense confrontation in Kahawatte



Colombo, July 3 (Daily Mirror) - Police were forced to use tear gas to control a tense situation that erupted between residents and police in Kahawatte following the funeral of a youth who was shot dead recently.

The clash reportedly broke out shortly after the funeral proceedings concluded, when area residents expressed anger over the handling of the investigations and demanded swift justice.
