Police Sergeant injured in accidental firearm discharge

Colombo, Dec. 7 (Daily Mirror) - A police sergeant was injured this morning when a firearm accidentally discharged inside the Malabe Police Station. The incident occurred while the officer was checking the firearm.

The sergeant sustained head injuries and was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital. 

A hospital spokesperson said that the officer’s condition is stable and not considered serious.

The Malabe Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
