One of the most dazzling celestial events of the year, the annual Perseid Meteor Shower, will reach its peak on the night of August 12, 2025, offering skywatchers a chance to witness up to 100 meteors per hour under dark, clear skies.
The phenomenon occurs as Earth passes through debris left behind by Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle, with meteors appearing to radiate from the constellation Perseus in the northeastern sky.
For the best view, astronomers recommend looking up after 2:00 a.m., about 20 degrees above the horizon. The Perseid Meteor Shower is active from July 16 to August 24, and viewers are advised to head to a dark location away from city lights for an unobstructed view of the spectacle.
