What a terrible decision by the government to allow this highly toxic substance into the SL food and water supply and environment. It kills any plant that it touches, it can kill all sorts of aquatic species, and it's been banned or severely restricted in so many countries from Argentina to the UK. Sri Lanka was right to suspend its use because of its direct connection with increased kidney disease among farmers and other agricultural workers. Are you now deciding that it's OK for these same people to get kidney disease because of its use? SHAME.
