Parties urged to submit final nominations ahead of deadline

The Election Commission has issued an urgent reminder to all political parties and independent groups to submit the names of their elected representatives to local government bodies including the mandatory female members by midnight on May 30, 2025.

In a statement, the Commission expressed concern over the delay in nominations, noting that despite the Local Government Elections concluding over three weeks ago, several parties and independent groups have yet to provide the full list of representatives for appointment to their respective councils.

The reminder comes just days ahead of the official commencement of the new term for local government institutions, scheduled for June 2, 2025.
