Parliament prorogued till February 7

Colombo, Jan. 26 (Daily Mirror)- President Ranil Wickremesinghe has prorogued Parliament till February 7, 2024.

The President issued the gazette notification stating that the Parliament was prorogued from midnight today under the powers vested in him in terms of the Constitution.

Parliament will meet on February 7, 2024.

The Daily Mirror reported on January 5 that Parliament will be prorogoued.

Not sure you understand the situation your country is in well. You should be thankful that you have someone who understands what he has to do and in his age give his maximum to turn around the country. The whole system and thinking of the Sri Lankans has to be changed because else it will never developed. A new government has to come but from where ? All existing are the same and then better have a RW . Get new faces who don’t follow the loop of money and power and show off but who take the duties given seriously .
