PUCSL warns CEB of any power outages until February 17

The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) said today that legal action will be taken against the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) if they fail to provide continuous power supply as promised.

In a letter PUCSL Chairman Janaka Rathnayaka said the commission did not approve any scheduled power shedding until February 17, as agreed during the discussion at the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL).

Accordingly, a decree has been issued in this regard to the CEB by the PUCSL today (26).

The letter further mentioned that the PUCSL will not hesitate to take legal action against the CEB according to the Electricity Board Act issued in 2009, if they are unable to follow the instructions of the commission. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)

PUCSL is now the boss of loss making CEB. Government the suffer of the losses as the real owner of the CEB must do something. The losses which made are country broke are in part caused by government having to lend CEB so much. The PUCSL wrongdoing to our nation as to be ended.

The CEB has thrown the Decree issued by the PUCSL into the waste paper basket as in my own area there was a power cut on 26.1.2023 from 4pm to 5.15 pm and thereafter to add insult to injury another power cut from 7.30p.m. to 8.50 pm. Are these responsible organizations to the consumers trying to antagonize the public as we consumers are left high and dry as we need proper directives as nothing could be planned as a "Tug a War" is in operation between two organizations which show where the country is heading maybe down a "CLIFF" Everyone for himself GOD for us All

The AL exams will be over by the time the legal action is taken. We know our legal system is fast and furious. Alternatively we could have a new chairman for the PU commission.

The HRCSL and PUCSL are now accusing the CEB for the power outages. Yesterday (26th) we experienced the usual scheduled power cuts of 02 hours and 20 minutes ?
