PTA will be abolished by early September: Minister

Colombo, August 22 (Daily Mirror) - The gazette to abolish the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) will be issued early next month, Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Herath said today.
He said the report of the committee under President's Counsel Rienzie Arsakularatne which was appointed to look into the abolition of the PTA is awaited by early next month.
He said a new legislation to ensure the security of the nation will replace the PTA.
