PM Harini meets Qatar Emir, conveys Sri Lanka’s condolences



Colombo, July 15 (Daily Mirror) - Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya met with the Emir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, during her visit to Doha to convey Sri Lanka's condolences on the passing of the Father Amir.

The Prime Minister arrived at Lusail Palace, where she was received by Qatar's Minister of Interior, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, before meeting the Emir.

During the meeting, Dr. Amarasuriya conveyed the deepest condolences of the Government and the people of Sri Lanka on the passing of the Father Emir, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Emir, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani; Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani; Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim; and senior members of the Qatari Royal Family, including several sons of the late Father Amir.

The Prime Minister is in Qatar on an official visit to represent Sri Lanka at the condolence proceedings, according to the Prime Minister's Media Division.
