Colombo, March 1 (Daily Mirror) - A total of 54 flights scheduled to arrive and depart from Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) have been cancelled due to the ongoing war situation in the Middle East, the Airport Officer-in-Charge said.

Accordingly, 26 flights scheduled to arrive at the airport by 12.00 noon today (01 March) were cancelled, while 28 departing flights were also called off.

The Officer-in-Charge requested passengers planning to travel to Middle Eastern destinations, or to other countries via those destinations, not to come to the airport and instead contact their respective airlines for updated information.

He further said that, apart from flights to the Middle East, normal flight operations are continuing to destinations in Europe, the Far East, and the Central Asian region.
