Organized criminal Manna Ramesh arrested over murder of youth

The Special Task Force (STF) has arrested three persons including organized criminal 'Manna Ramesh'  in connection with a shooting of a youth at Thalduwa in Avissawella.

The STF said Manna Ramesh had killed a 25-year old youth, a resident of Napawala on December 16.

The youth was shot dead by a repeater firearm at Manna Ramesh's house during a party and his body was buried at Nissarana forest in Kiridiwela.

The STF also arrested two suspects aged 22 and 24 in connection with the murder. The repeater firearm and several ammunition were also recovered by the STF.

The body of the deceased youth is to be exhumed tomorrow. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
