Opposition parties collectively outperform NPP in many areas

Colombo, May 7 (Daily Mirror) - The Opposition parties have been able to outnumber the ruling National People's Power (NPP) in a number of local authorities.

It means these parties, if united, can elbow out the NPP from taking charge of the councils.

According to Opposition MP Mujibur Rahman, the Opposition parties have collectively outperformed the NPP in the Colombo Municipal Council as well.

All the opposition parties will never unite. Even their husbands and wifes are not united. The NPP has given a thrashing to the opposition parties. That is what happened. Now keep your mouth's shut for the next 10 years at least. Let the NPP stop corruption and make this a beautiful Sri Lanka free of corruption and thuggery !!

The opposition parties should not try to take control of local council bodies including the Colombo Municipal Council by cobbling together divergent opposition parties with ideological differences because the alternative is for the NPP and the Pohottuwa to join together to run these bodies as they are both leftist parties and the majority of people who brought the Pohottuwa to power had already shifted their support to NPP (JVP) at the last two crucial elections and to fulfill people's aspirations, whether they like it or not as birds of same feather should fly together.
